Carol Tait Buck, born Dec. 17, 1925, in Evanston, Ill., passed away in her sleep Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at the age of 86.
Mrs. Buck raised four children with Arnold, her husband of 64 years. After starting the family in Illinois, the Bucks lived in Ohio, New York, Korea, Spain and Virginia. She was the pacemaker that kept the family together and moving forward.
An exceptional organizer, Mrs. Buck worked during World War II at Fort Sheridan, Ill., and for an antiques dealer in East Aurora, N.Y. She volunteered at Cross Roads Church food pantry in Monroeville, Pa., for nearly 10 years and later at the Lake of the Woods Lions & Lionesses Wilderness Food Pantry in Locust Grove.
She is survived by two sons, James and Peter; two daughters, Nancy and Mary; and eight grandchildren, Marguerite Holland, Lea Buck, Buck Schiff, Alyson Buck, Ryan Buck, Caitlin Buck, Eleni Martinez and Olivia Martinez.
