Leroy David Hefner, 84, of Fredericksburg passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012.

Leroy served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had retired from Giant Food as a warehouse manager after 26 years.

Leroy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ayako Hefner; his children, Lillian M. Arnold of Fredericksburg, F. Lee Hefner and his wife, Mary, and David R. Hefner and his wife, Tammy, all of Spotsylvania County; one brother, Rudolph M. Hefner of Michigan; five grandchildren, Ian Patterson, Jeremy Hefner, Joshua Hefner, Elizabeth Hefner and Christian Hefner; and one great-granddaughter, Lailah Hefner.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
