Mary Elizabeth Pruitt Jackson, 57, of Fredericksburg, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.

She was born in Richlands, a daughter of the late Curtis Edward and Mary Margaret Keen Pruitt Sr. Mary was a 1974 graduate of Richlands High School. She lived in the Richlands area until 1989, when she moved to Fredericksburg. She had been an LPN at Clinch Valley Hospital in Richlands and several other hospitals in the Fredericksburg area. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, George Harrison Pruitt.

She is survived by her husband, Michael W. Jackson; sister Lillie Crawford Talcott and husband Paul of Woodbridge; two brothers, Curtis Edward Pruitt Jr. and wife Janice of Yuba City, Calif., and Donald Ray Pruitt Sr. and wife Wanda of Tazewell; and several nieces and nephews.

A service for Mary Elizabeth Pruitt Jackson will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, with the Rev. Ancil Childress officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill.
