Thomas Mansfield Burruss, 87, of Spotsylvania County went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Thomas was born May 11, 1925, to John Thomas Burruss and Bessie Ellen Payne Burruss. Surviving him are two brothers, John E. Burruss Sr. and Nelson Miller Burruss. Also surviving are a multitude of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A lifelong resident of Spotsylvania, Thomas was lovingly known to family and close friends as "Tiddle-T." He loved the great outdoors and was a skilled wood craftsman by trade. He was a Navy veteran and proudly served his country in the 1940s.
The visitation is from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, with the funeral immediately following, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The committal service will be held in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Brooks will be officiating.
