Mineral teen dies in single-car crash
A Mineral teen was killed early Friday in a single-vehicle crash in Spotsylvania County.
Virginia State Police Senior Trooper B.L. Finch responded to the crash on Blaydes Corner Road one mile south of Partlow Road at 4:12 a.m.
According to Deborah Cox, spokeswoman for the state police, a preliminary investigation shows a 2003 Ford Focus was headed south on Blaydes Corner Road when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
The driver, Christopher P. McDaniel, 18, of Mineral died at the scene.
Cox said McDaniel was the only occupant of the vehicle, and he wearing his seat belt.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
