Donnie Johnston's tale about Freddie the Free Range Rooster ["Freddie ruffled, but still cocky," Sept. 6] makes me wonder if Donnie is special. He sees things differently.

Having said that, I must admit that my grandson is much like Donnie. He wrote a three-episode story about Cluck the Super Chicken (Ninja) and his wife ChickABoom (she lays explosive eggs) and their adventures.

Maybe when Donnie retires, my grandson can take his place, and readers could continue to enjoy fowl tales.
