Political conventions reveal differences

The political conventions have come and gone and it is clear there are stark differences between the two parties. According to the Republican Party, they are the saviors of the Western world--only they can save the country from fiscal ruin. Then the Democrats ride in and proclaim victory because they are the people's party.

But some top Democrats equate the Republicans with the Nazi Party. The Democrats claim they are ethically superior to the Republicans. But according to Fox News, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius broke the law by making "extemporaneous partisan remarks" in February at a human-rights campaign event in Charlotte, N.C.

Sebelius was campaigning for the president while in her official capacity, a clear violation of the Hatch Act. As a federal employee, if I were ever caught making political statements or campaigning while on federal time I would be fired. However, I guess the law doesn't apply to major campaign contributors.

To add more salt to the wound, it was reported that during the Democratic Convention's tribute to U.S. veterans, they displayed a visual of the Russian Baltic Fleet. Someone did not do his homework. Alas, the Democrats must be really wishing for a socialist/communist state.

As Americans we must choose what type of country we want. A free-market economy with an elected, representative government, or a socialist-led executive branch with one party overseeing the legislative branch.

We can't afford another four years of Obama. As Clint Eastwood said, it is time to let him go!
