Kyle John Morton, 13, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, in an airplane crash in Spotsylvania County beside his father, John B. Morton Jr.

Kyle was currently an eighth-grader at Dixon-Smith Middle School. He loved sports, air-soft, fishing and sports cars. Kyle will forever be remembered for his optimistic and positive attitude.

Survivors include his mother, Kristy Morton; sister Adriane Morton; paternal grandmother Catherine Morton of Columbia, S.C.; maternal grandparents Marge and Oliver Parson of Fredericksburg; two aunts, Mindy Ball of Fredericksburg and Linda Morton of Tennessee; one uncle, Greg Parson and his wife, Rosemary, of Utah; several cousins; and numerous friends.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at the Fredericksburg Expo Center. Interment will follow in Lakewood Cemetery in Bowling Green.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Morton Family Memorial Fund at any PNC Bank.
