Luther J. "Luke" Smith Sr., 95, passed away at Mary Washington Hospital on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012.
Luke was born Sept. 10, 1917, in Perry County, Pa. He married Dorothy Ruth Metz on April 17, 1943. He retired after 30 years as a CPA/accountant. They lived in the Lake Anna area for over 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Luther J. "Jack" Smith Jr. and wife Gay of Spotsylvania, Daniel A. Smith and wife Marie of Spotsylvania, and Michael E Smith of Mineral; one daughter, Joyce A. Randall of Stone Mountain, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania, with entombment to follow. Visitation will begin at noon Monday, prior to the funeral service.
