Gerald L. Schnurr

Gerald Lee Schnurr, 83, of Caroline County passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Schnurr had retired from the U.S. Army and later the U.S. Postal Service. He was a Chosin Reservoir survivor and a Bronze Star recipient. Mr. Schnurr enjoyed watching TV and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Ronald Lee Schnurr, Anita Gallahan and husband Michael, Vernon Schnurr, and Linda Burkholder and husband Stephen; sister Theda Grimes; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
