A government-free world? Think first

I'm a senior citizen, and I have to admit I'm confused. I receive Social Security and Medicare benefits, and I appreciate them immensely. I see other seniors driving around with Romney/Ryan stickers on their cars, and inevitably, there's also a sticker advocating getting government out of our lives.

I've tried and tried, and I can't think of one way the government interferes negatively in my life. Should we get rid of the EPA, and go back to the days of extreme pollution? Oh, wait, the corporations will police themselves! Should we do away with the restrictions on Wall Street so we can go back to the financial precipice? Should we stop funding Planned Parenthood and Medicaid, thus denying basic health care to many low-income women?

There are so many things to get rid of--where do we start? If you want your independence, fine--send back your Social Security checks and don't use Medicare. Stop taking the tax deductions and other benefits you receive just for being older. Try living government-free, and let me know how you like it.
