Donna Stevens Boyd, 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Culpeper surrounded by her loving family Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012.
Donna was born in Washington, D.C., on July 20, 1940, to Samuel Bowman Stevens and Nancy Booth Stevens. She was an educator, retiring in 1995 after 25 years with the Culpeper County school system. She was the founder of the Culpeper Geneaology Society, a Mary Washington College graduate, a life member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church and an avid craftsperson.
Donna is survived by her husband, Harold Boyd of Culpeper; children Denise E. Boyd of Bristow and J. Asby Boyd II and his wife, Sara Sears Boyd, of Manassas; three grandchildren, Noah Patrick Jenkins, Alexandria Ramon Boyd and Haiden Patrick Boyd; her stepmother, Jane Horne Stevens of Benton, Alaska; and siblings Louise Stevens Robbins of Madison, Wis., Joyce Ann Stevens Shore of Laurel, Md., Jane Elizabeth Marlow of Benton, Suzanne Jean Stevens of Laurel and Samuel Bowman Stevens III of Atlanta.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Culpeper, with Father Michael Gray officiating. Interment will be in Shrine Mont cemetery in Orkney Springs.
