CRASH >> No one injured when car smashes into Spotsylvania house

October 31, 2012 12:10 am

A17-year-old Spotsylvania County girl apparently lost control of her Mitsubishi coupe late Tuesday morning and slammed into a house off Catharpin Road.

The girl told police that the car started sliding and she swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle. She apparently overcorrected and the Mitsubishi ran off the road and into the house in the 10900 block of Catharpin Road, said Capt. Mike Harvey of the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened at about 11:20 a.m. Harvey said there were no serious injuries and no charges have been filed.

County inspectors were called in to estimate the damage to the house.
