Carine Joyce Moran, 70, of Spotsylvania County passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012.
She was born in Detroit to Melvin Papke and Genevieve Dunn Papke on May 11, 1942.
Carine attended Royal Oak High School in Royal Oak, Mich., and attended Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Ill. In 1961 she married the late Lowell David Thomas, who preceded her in death. They had four children, Julie Anne McKeen, Jennifer Andrea Alcott, David Lowell Thomas and Amy Elizabeth Hunter.
On Sept. 27, 1997, Carine was united in marriage with Leonard R. Moran of Spotsylvania. She was known for her unwavering faith in God, her devotion to her family, kindness to friends and her love of horses, dogs, gardening and working on her farm.
Carine is survived by her husband; her children; her sons-in-law, Ed Hunter, Ronald Alcott and Scott McKeen; her grandchildren, Kelsey McKeen, Korrie McKeen, Kylie McKeen, Emily Hunter, William Hunter, Daniel Thomas and Benjamin Thomas; her sister, Donna Carlisle; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
A celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Spotswood Baptist Church, 4009 Lafayette Blvd., Fredericksburg.
