The public hearing on the Fall Hill Avenue and Mary Washington Boulevard project in Fredericksburg has a new date and meeting location.
The meeting will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, at James Monroe High School, according to a release from the city.
The original meeting was canceled because of Superstorm Sandy.
Project plans and other documents will be on display at the meeting, as will information on property impacts and details of the work schedule.
Residents also will get a chance to comment at the meeting.
All of the information will be available for 15 days prior to the meeting at the Virginia Department of Transportation office on Deacon Road in southern Stafford and at the city Public Works Department on Princess Anne Street.
The project, broken into phases, will include widening Fall Hill Avenue to four lanes west of the Rappahannock Canal bridge to the section that already has been widened near Wegmans. Sidewalks and a trail also will be added, and the bridge spanning Interstate 95 will be replaced.
Mary Washington Boulevard also will be extended to connect with Fall Hill near the canal bridge.
The project's preliminary schedule calls for construction to begin about mid-2015 and take about two years to finish.
The separate canal bridge improvement project is expected to start early next year.
