I write to express my concerns with Internet sales-tax legislation that has been introduced in Congress.
The thought of collecting and remitting sales tax for more than 9,500 tax jurisdictions is a killer for any small business. Filing taxes is never easy, but this piece of legislation poses an existential threat to small businesses that operate online.
I hope our leaders in Congress consider raising the small-business exemption to make this legislation more palatable, or reconsider it altogether. It is unfair and will kill jobs and small businesses in particular.
