McCartys celebrate 50th anniversary

Frank and Rubinette McCarty of Fredericksburg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 6, 2012. The couple's two children, Mark and Brian, and their spouses, Lisa and Carolyn, celebrated this wonderful occasion in Washington, D.C. on the Odyssey cruise along with their five grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Cameron, Miller and Grayson McCarty.

Frank and Rubinette came to the Fredericksburg area in 1965 from Lancaster County. Frank founded White Oak Equipment in 1970 and grew the business to four locations throughout Virginia. Frank has since sold his business to his sons and brother-in-law, and they continue to operate the company today.

Frank is still active in the business part time, andserves the community on the Salvation Army board and as president of B.O.O.T.S (Bringing Occupational Opportunities To Schools) at Stafford High School. Frank also gives his time and dedication to an event that he is very passionate about, the annual Benefit Oyster Roast to raise money for people in need. Rubinette spends her time taking care of the household, and enjoying time with her grandchildren and her many friends. They are both active members at Fairview Baptist Church.

In their spare time, Frank and Rubinette love to spend time traveling with their friends and relaxing at their second home in Colonial Beach.
