Vivian Harris "Johnny" Seay, 81, of Spotsylvania County passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Seay was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He retired from FMC and then from Mary Washington College. Mr. Seay was a charter member of Spotswood Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Seay; a son, Michael Seay; and a daughter, Bonnie Limerick.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Seay and wife Gloria and a daughter, Donna Seay, all of Spotsylvania; three grandchildren, Michelle Gill and husband Kevin of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Lisa Limerick and Robert Limerick, both of Spotsylvania; two great-grandchildren, Rebekah Gill and Zachary Gill; two brothers, Samuel Seay and Delton Seay, both of Spotsylvania; son-in-law David Limerick and wife Sue of Caroline County; numerous sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his two grandcats, Roscoe and Miss Thump.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Jim Stone officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Nave, Nathan Sorrels, Barry Jett, Nick Hough, Richard Oliver Jr. and Luther Seay. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Gill and Richard Oliver.

A reception will follow the burial at Spotsylvania Eagles, 5100 Jake McWhirt Lane, Fredericksburg, Va. 22408.
