Jean K. Mears, 94, of Stafford County, formerly of Portland, Ore., passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Heartfields Assisted Living.
Mrs. Mears was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church and Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She worked for the Red Cross during World War II.
Survivors include daughters Margaret M. Seitz (Dean) of Hampton and Barbara M. Blose (Todd E.) of Fredericksburg; and grandchildren Todd William Blose (Christopher S. Maurer), Capt. Matthew E. Blose (Leilani J. Blose), Sarah S. Joyce (Lt. John Joyce) and Capt. Charles M. Seitz. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Mears.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at St. George's Episcopal Church. Interment will be private.
Memorials may be made in her name to the American Red Cross-Fredericksburg Chapter, 4836 Southpoint Parkway, Fredericksburg, Va. 22407; or to St. George's Episcopal Church, 905 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.
