Edward "Tye" Byrd, 73, of Colonial Beach passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital.
He is survived by his son, Ronnie Fortune of Colonial Beach; A sister, Beatrice Berry of Fort Washington, Md.; four brothers, Charles Byrd, Thomas Byrd, Milton Byrd and twin brother Everette Byrd, all of Colonial Beach; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A viewing will be held from noon to 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 4, at Cedell Brooks Funeral Home, Port Royal.
The funeral will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 5, at Little Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. K. Lionel Richards officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Grant's Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Colonial Beach.
