John Willard Coppage, 64, of Somerville passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Prince William Hospital.
John worked for many years in the plumbing industry as a warehouse manager. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and served as an air-evac medic in Vietnam. He was a bluegrass musician and played with many local musicians.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Haywood Coppage and Eleanor Grove Coppage.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Arlene J. Coppage; stepchildren Christine Kilby and Charles Kilby; and granddaughter Ashleigh Jenkins. Additional survivors include his siblings, Fay Langer, Ann Coppage, Ronald Coppage and James Coppage; aunts Evelyn Hoffman and Jeanette Miller; uncle Walter Grove; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 12714 Elk Run Road, Midland, Va. 22728, with the Rev. Peyton Embrey officiating. A reception will follow in the church social hall.
