John W. Jackson Jr., 77, of Fredericksburg passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013.
John was born Dec. 5, 1935, in Washington, D.C., to the late Eleanor and John W. Jackson, and raised in Arlington. John graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, then Amherst College and earned his law degree at the University of Virginia.
John served in the U.S. Army in Germany and studied at the Monterey Language School. He spoke four languages in addition to English. John began his law career in private practice and then worked as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice. He had lived in Fredericksburg for the past 25 years.
Survivors include his sisters, Margaret Jackson Bartolini of California and Beverley Jackson Johnston of Texas; three nieces; one nephew; two great-nieces; and a great-nephew.
Burial will be private.
