Public welcome today at Chatham 'mingle'
Everyone's invited today to come and get to know the Friends of Chatham.
The regional nonprofit group, formed last year to support preservation of the historic mansion in Stafford that bears its name, will hold its second Member Mingle at Blackstone Coffee in Fredericksburg's Eagle Village retail complex.
From 9:30 to 11 a.m. today, feel free to drop by the coffee shop at 1113 Jefferson Davis Highway, across from the University of Mary Washington's Fredericksburg campus, for Dutch-treat coffee, tea and treats.
The friends group encourages all to bring a friend to the casual get-together, and promises some news about Chatham Manor's vandalized statue of Pan, the mythological Greek figure.
Friend of Chatham was established by area residents to raise funds to help the the National Park Service with cosmetic improvements to Chatham, its grounds and ancillary buildings.
