Frances B. Pratt

Frances Buckley Pratt, 96, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, in Fredericksburg. She was born in Baltimore, Md., on Feb. 16, 1916, to Charles Robinson Buckley and Elvira Noll Buckley.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Turner Pratt Jr. of Camden Farm, Port Royal, where they lived during their married life and raised their three daughters. Following her husband's death, she moved to Fredericksburg.

Frances was an active member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg. She was an active member and past president of the Rappahannock Valley Garden Club. She enjoyed working as a volunteer at the Mary Washington Hospital Thrift Shop.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Barbara Pratt Willis and her husband, Judge Jere M.H. Willis Jr., of Fredericksburg, Alice Pratt Moter and her husband, Dr. Lawrence R. Moter, of Bowling Green, and Frances Pratt Willis and her husband, Dr. John C. Willis, of Niceville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Camden Farm, Port Royal, with the Rev. James C. Dannals and the Rev. Gay M. Rahn, both of St. George's Episcopal Church, officiating. Pallbearers will be Frances' nine grandsons, Jere M.H. Willis III, Richard T.P. Willis, Gordon F. Willis. Charles R. Willis, Lawrence R. Moter Jr., Richard T.P. Moter, John C. Willis IV, Carter P. Willis and Beverley T. Willis.

The family thanks the staffs of Mary Washington Hospice, Hughes Home and Wilburn Gardens for their compassionate care. They request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. George's Episcopal Church, 905 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401; or to Mary Washington Hospice, 5012 Southpoint Parkway, Fredericksburg, Va. 22407.
