Spotsylvania Superintendent Scott Baker will present his fiscal 2014 budget proposal at Massaponax High School on Monday evening.
The School Board moved its meeting to accommodate the expected crowd, schools spokeswoman Rene Daniels said.
In addition to Baker's budget proposal, Monday's agenda includes presentation of proposals for the next school year calendar as well as recognition of 136 fine-arts students and a presentation by Robert E. Lee Elementary's 47-student fourth-grade choir.
Baker will also recognize about 50 teachers, parents, business leaders and school administrators who served on this year's Budget Advisory Committee.
Baker has not yet released details of his budget. However, expected revenues fall about $8.16 million short of needs the budget identifies, according to projections.
The board's Calendar Committee will present three options for next year's school calendar. Two of them will have classes start after Labor Day. Most other school divisions in the immediate Fredericksburg area start after the traditional end-of-summer holiday weekend.
Massaponax High School is located at 8201 Jefferson Davis Highway. It is across from the division's administration building.
The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.
