Walter S. Curtis

Walter Scott Curtis, 82, of Ruckersville passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Hospice of the Piedmont-Hospice House in Charlottesville. He was born June 5, 1930, in New York, N.Y., to Aubrey Scott Curtis and Mildred Mitchell Curtis.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Ellie Louise Curtis of Ruckersville; his son and his wife, Robert and Juanita Curtis of Sumerduck; his daughter, Rebecca Pennington of Gastonia, N.C.; his son, Jerry Forrest Curtis of Stafford County; brother William Curtis of Sumerduck; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Edna Mae Garrigan; two brothers, Ray Curtis and Roger Curtis; and son Walter Jeffery Curtis.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Mount Holly Baptist Church, 6172 Sumerduck Road, Remington, Va. 22734, with the Rev. Chaz Campbell officiating.
