Stafford walker reports beating

A young Stafford man was beaten by three males while walking in the area of Barrett Height Road and Ridgeway Drive on Tuesday evening in North Stafford, police said.

The man was walking about 6:15 p.m. when he noticed the trio behind him, Sheriff's Office spokesman Bill Kennedy said. The man was concerned right away--and even more so when he heard footsteps quickly approaching him.

Kennedy said two of the assailants grabbed the man by the arms and the group hit him multiple times in the neck, face and body before fleeing in an unknown direction. Kennedy said the assailants, described only as black males, made no attempt to take any of the victim's property. The victim told police he had no idea who attacked him or why.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 540/658-4400 or Crime Solvers at 540/659-2020.
