Man accused of stripping in store

A Stafford County man was arrested early Wednesday following a bizarre incident in which he ended up naked and face down on a sidewalk, police said.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Bill Kennedy said the incident began about 12:40 a.m. when the man drove to the 7-Eleven at 910 Garrisonville Road in North Stafford. He entered the store and began acting strangely while following an employee around. He gave no indication he was interested in buying anything, Kennedy said.

The employee called police after the man began taking off his clothes. When Deputy Jason Kreider arrived, the man was just outside the store on the sidewalk with clothing strewn about, Kennedy said. He was "completely incoherent" when Kreider tried to talk to him, Kennedy said. The man was eventually placed in the back of a police cruiser and taken to a hospital to be examined and evaluated.

Darren A. Davis, 23, of Powhatan Court is charged with indecent exposure and driving on a revoked license.
