Junius O. "Buster" Byrd, 62, of Tappahannock passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at his home.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Byrd of Tappahannock; two sons, Alexander Taylor and Mark Taylor, both of Tappahannock; two grandchildren; four sisters, Parthenia Byrd, Pearl Taylor and Alice Baker, all of Tappahannock, and Beverly Young of Caroline County; two brothers, John Byrd of Hustle and Carl Byrd of Tappahannock; and three aunts, Adell Alsop of Newtown and Ida Pearl Pierce and Louise Hickman, both of Bowling Green.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Cedell Brooks Funeral Home.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at First Mount Olive Baptist Church in Newtown, with the Rev. Drucilla Tate officiating and Elder Janie Mitchell as eulogist. There will be a viewing at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
