Garlin "Tush" Howard Sr., 77, of King George County passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital.
He was born in Clayton, Ga., but lived in King George for most of his life. He served honorably in the U.S. Army and worked for both VDOT and the King George County public school system for 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Howard; his children, Sheila Franklin, Doris Howard and Garlin Howard Jr.; his grandchildren, Scott and Aaron Franklin; and his siblings, Ross and Reed Howard and Ola Mae Brown.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at Round Hill Baptist Church in King George.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Round Hill Baptist Church.
