Willard H. Snellings

Willard "Jughead" Hartley Snellings Jr., 86, of Falmouth passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital.

He was a lifelong resident of the Falmouth area in Stafford County.

Mr. Snellings served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. After retirement from the Navy, he worked construction in Reston, at the Quantico MCB Dependents School System and at Berry Bros. Produce. He was a member of the local VFW Post 3103 and American Legion Post 290.

He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Samuels Snellings; four children, Billy Snellings and Dreama Long, both of Stafford, Joey Snellings and his wife, Paula, of Madison County and Ray Harding and his wife, Teresa, of Spotsylvania County; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Robert DelBuono, Bryce Long, R.J. Harding, Joshua Snellings, David Snellings and Kyle Boutchyard.

Memorial donations may be made to Mary Washington Hospice, 5012 Southpoint Parkway, Fredericksburg, Va. 22407.
