Larry Eugene "Buster" Hensley, 75, of Stafford County passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Hensley was born on Aug. 10, 1938, in Rockingham County, and was the son of the late Murphy V. and Eula Sipe Hensley of McGaheysville.

Buster was an Elkton High School graduate and was a welder/boiler mechanic, retiring from the Arlington County School Board maintenance department. He taught others his trade and to become certified welders, among them a brother-in-law, son-in-law and a grandson.

He made friends everywhere he went and never met a stranger. He enjoyed the Redskins, NASCAR, guns, motorcycles, and country and gospel music. He also loved his dogs, Buck, Scooter and Molly.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Leotta Ramey Hensley; one daughter, Sherri Sellers and husband Alan of Culpeper; a brother, Murphy F. Hensley of Round Hill; a sister, Janice Spitzer and husband Ira Clay of Timberville; two cousins reared like sisters, Maxine Hedrick and Mary Jo Oddo Halstead; three grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law Linda Hensley; and cousin Jesse Sipe (Sonny).

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel, Elkton. Pastor Russ Barb and Pastor Gerald Meeks will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mount Olivet cemetery in McGaheysville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
