On Jan. 14, 1914, Anne Urquhart Meyer was born in Scotland. On Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, two months shy of her 100th birthday, she went on to Glory to be with her Heavenly Father.
At the age of 7, Anne came to the U.S. In 1939, she married Alvin Henry Meyer, who predeceased her in 1997.
They had two children, Don Meyer and Linda Meyer Rooney; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister, Helen, and her brothers, Jack and Jim.
She was previously from Fredericksburg, a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church and a charter member of Sunlight Garden Club.
She had a strong faith and was a lady comfortable in God's grace.
Although she will be sorely missed by family and friends, we celebrate her life. May she rest in peace with Jesus. We praise God for 99 years and 10 months of her life.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, in the chapel at the Masonic Home in Richmond, where she resided for more than 20 years. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Masonic Home of Virginia (MAHOVA) would be appreciated.
