Kenneth E. Judy

Kenneth E. Judy, 88, of Fredericksburg died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, in Richmond.

Born in Cedarville, Ohio on Dec. 24, 1924, to parents Arthur F. and Eva Judy, he served in the U.S. Navy in World War II from 1943-1945. In 1948 he graduated from Cedarville College with a BS degree. After graduation he became the principal of a small high school in Champagne County, Ohio, where he also taught and coached all sports.

In 1952 he accepted a civilian position with the U.S. Air Force at Wright- Patterson AFB, Ohio and later at Andrews AFB in Maryland. He also attended American and Georgetown Universities and the Air Force Institute of Technology. After retiring from federal service in 1980, he and his first wife, Bernice, moved to Stafford County, where he substitute taught in the public high schools.

After the passing of his first wife, Bernice, Ken met and married Gladys Adams in 1999. They were members of Spotswood Baptist Church.

In addition to his present wife Gladys, Ken leaves a son, Mark Judy and his wife, Elizabeth; a daughter, Linda Teffeau and her husband, Marc; stepsons Graham and Gregory Hughes; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
