Beverly A. Parks

Beverly Ann Clift Parks, 81, of Fredericksburg passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 27, 1932 to parents George W. Clift and Elsie Marie Kraft.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Arlon Edward Parks Jr., and their son David Wayne Parks.

Survivors include sons Arlon Edward Parks III and wife Sarah, Lawrence Michael Parks and wife Rosa, Thomas Gary Parks and wife Vickie, John Kevin Parks and wife Susanna and Joseph Brian Parks; daughter Janet Carol Lowery and husband Steven; daughter-in-law Rita Parks; grandchildren Jessica Michael Kirk and husband Tell, Jacob Thomas Parks, Jeremy Michael Parks and wife Ashley, Rebecca Grace Hubley and husband Kevin, John Michael Parks, Paul Kevin Parks, Steven Michael Lowery II and wife Stephanie, and Kenton Edward Lowery; and great-grandchildren Hunter A. Lowery, Deklan M. Lowery, Talon D. Kirk, Parker K. Hubley and Mahala G. Hubley; and sisters Betty Jean Armstrong and husband Skeeter and Elsie Mae Devine. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends.

Beverly graduated from George Washington High School in Alexandria. She was a member of The Adventurers Sunday school class, The Wesleyan Circle, the Monday Morning Spiritual Growth Bible Study and she worked at the Outreach Food Pantry. She was an avid bridge player and member of the American Contract Bridge League, participating in local bridge clubs.

Beverly loved the Lord and was a devoted member of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, where a celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, by Rev. Dr. Brenda Biler. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
