Wilmer 'Reggie' Wheeler

Wilmer "Reggie" Wheeler, 88, of Spotsylvania County passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2014.

Reggie proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. After the war, he was employed by the FMC plant and eventually retired from the Marine Corps Base Quantico machine shop. After retirement, Reggie enjoyed working in his garden and cleaning automobiles. Known for his generosity, he was always willing to help a friend in need. He was loved by his family and friends, and will be forever missed.

Reggie was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Lucille V. Wheeler. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra L. Blasko of Orange County; his son, Reginald Wheeler of Spotsylvania County; four grandchildren, Kimberley B. Washington and husband Kenneth, Christopher L. Brooks and wife Tracy, Sean Blasko and David W. Wheeler; and four great-grandchildren, Christopher Craig, Paul Craig, Harleigh Perkins and Savannah Perkins. He is also survived by his brother, Boyd Wheeler, and his sister, Gloria Brooks.

A visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 14, at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Quantico National Cemetery.
