Carmen John Rubbo

Carmen John Rubbo, 91, of Montross, formerly of Hatboro, Pa., passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Mary Washington Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Dorothea Reiner Rubbo.

A native of south Philadelphia, Carmen served during both World War II and the Korean War, including the Battle of the Ardennes, and received the Bronze Star Medal. After leaving the U.S. Army, Carmen worked for and retired from Howmet Industries. After retirement, he was employed by Prudential Insurance, then relocated to Virginia 14 years ago.

Carmen is survived by son Armand Rubbo and his wife Wendy of Carrollton; son David R. Rubbo of Montross; daughter Barbara Ann Kenney and her husband, Joe, of Perkasie, Pa.; daughter Esther Oliver and her husband, Michael, of Montross; and six grandchildren: Sean Rubbo; Zane, Cullen and Emma Oliver; David and Melissa Rubbo.

In lieu of flowers, Carmen's family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Warminster Presbyterian Church, 500 Madison Ave., Warminster, PA 18974.
