Q: Who has been your greatest influence and why?

A: My father, Thomas Morrison. He showed me how to have respect for people as kind of a mainstay of living.

Q: Where did your passion for music come from?

A: I honestly don’t know. Along with sports, I’ve always been into listening to music. The kind of running joke is I’m like the only guy who’s worked in a record store who can’t play an instrument.

Q: Besides the Blue Dog, where’s your favorite local hangout?

A: I really like hanging out at Curtis Park. This time of year, I go over there with my dog and sometimes my wife, and we’re the only people there. It’s like we have our own private park.

Q: You have $1 million, but have to get rid of the money in 72 hours. What do you do?

A: I’d set some of it aside first for the future and retirement. I would give a substantial amount to conservation organizations. I’d retire. I would definitely travel. Ireland. Italy. Australia.

Q: You have an extra hour each day. How do you spend it?

A: Reading or writing, because I don’t do enough of either.

Q: Your friends would be surprised you know all the words to what song?

A: Probably ‘Hotel California,’ because I just listened to it over and over and over in high school. But I don’t listen to mainstream rock anymore, so that might surprise some people.

Q: Classmates from your high school would be shocked that you ...

A: That I was running a record store. They all thought I was gonna be like a lawyer or a banker or something like that.

Q: What would you change about Fredericksburg if you could?

A: The antipathy that you get toward the come-heres that you get from people.

Q: What was the first concert you attended and what was it like?
