Wolverines drop state final despite late rally. Date published: 12/11/2004
The North Stafford Wolverines lost the Group AAA, Division 5 final game to Meadowbrook, 35-27, in Richmond Saturday.
North Stafford went up early 14-0, but Meadowbrook came charging back. North Stafford rallied in the fourth quarter, recovering two fumbles and an onside kick, but the late heroics came up short. "The sting from the loss tonight I'm sure will linger for months, weeks and years to come," North Stafford Head Coach Eric Cooke said after the game.
