Four students at the University of Mary Washington’s College of Graduate and Professional Studies were honored for their outstanding achievements at a Graduate Awards Reception last night at the Stafford campus. Each student will receive their degree today at the university’s commencement ceremony.
Annette M. Bonham of Stafford County, “Award for Outstanding Bachelor of Professional Studies Student.”
The computer technology major and mother of two completed her program with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
Michelle Coster Quinn of Spotsylvania County, “Award for Outstanding MBA Student.”
After completing her bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary in 1982, she began a career in government finance and philanthropy before taking time off to raise five children. She will graduate with a 3.978 grade-point average.
Sandra C. Reynolds of Manassas, “Award for Outstanding M.Ed. Student.”
After an undergraduate degree in psychology and a 25-year career in business, she decided to turn to education and will graduate with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. Last year, she was recognized by the Manassas City Public Schools as the “Outstanding New Teacher of the Year.”
To be eligible for these awards, the students must have a minimum 3.8 grade-point average, and also demonstrate academic excellence beyond the grade-point average. They also must show leadership, enthusiasm, commitment and professional potential.
In addition, Lisa Hobson of Gainesville received the Delta Kappa Gamma Virginia Scholars Award.”
Delta Kappa Gamma International is a professional honor society for women educators.
