Local Guardsmen prepare to deploy

This weekend was the last chance for Guardsmen in the 116th Brigade Troops Battalion to visit home. They were given a four-day pass from training at Fort Dix in New Jersey before deploying to Iraq this month. About 110 Guardsmen from the Fredericksburg area are deploying with the 116th Brigade, along with 66 soldiers from Company C, 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry, out of Leesburg. Their exact role is unknown, but it may include some convoy duties.
