Several blocks of downtown Fredericksburg were blocked off this morning while bomb technicians were investigating a suspicious package left in the city’s Juvenile and Domestic Court building.

The building, at the corner of Princess Anne and Charlotte streets, was evacuated, according to Capt. M.J. Jones of the city fire department.

Jones said that a state police bomb truck and team were called to the scene.

Streets blocked include Princess Anne, Caroline, Charlotte and Prince Edward.
