Frawley faces another DUI charge
Former UMW president was fired last year after being arrested twice in two days on DUI charges. His latest charge stems from an incident earlier this month in Maryland.

A year to the day, after his first drunken driving charge, former UMW President William J. Frawley has been arrested a third time on charges of driving under the influence.
According to Maryland court records, Frawley was stopped by police at 10:50 p.m. on April 10 at 2908 Virgilia St., in Rockville, Md., driving a 1997 Toyota with Maryland tags. The court records indicate he produced a Maryland driver’s license.
He was charged with "driving (attempting to drive) a vehicle while under the influence," according to court records.
UMW’s Board of Visitors fired Frawley last year after he was arrested twice in two days on driving under the influences charges in Virginia, first in Fairfax on April 10, 2007, then the next day in Fredericksburg, when a fellow motorist reported someone driving across the Chatham Bridge with a front tire missing. He told a police officer he had consumed six bottles of cough medicine, according to a police report.
Frawley entered Alford pleas on those charges in Fairfax and Fredericksburg, meaning he did not admit guilt, but acknowledged there was enough evidence to convict him.
In Fairfax, the judge suspended a 30-day jail sentence and all but $300 of a $1,000 fine. He also suspended Frawley’s driving privileges for a year and ordered him to receive substance-abuse treatment. He said he would not hesitate to send Frawley to jail for 30 days if he violated the terms of his yearlong probation.
In his Fredericksburg case, the judge suspended his license for a year, fined him $500 plus court costs, and ordered him to attend alcohol-abuse sessions.

There seems to be a very serious depression and alcohol problem here. I hope that the court system will provide him with the help he needs so he can get back on his feet and once again become a productive member of society. Yes he should lose his driving priviledges and get the jail time anyone else would get...But he also needs clinical help. I pray for him and his family that they get the help they need. Thank God noone else has been injured and hopefully the md court will keep it that way.
Let's see...

Maybe now that he's a regular joe again, he'll get what's coming to him.
If true about him never having a VA license, then someone dropped the ball in reporting the suspension to MD.

The reason it's worded like that is because the charged as stated on the online court records is the following: "(DRIVING, ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE) VEH. WHILE IMPAIRED BY ALCOHOL". FYI: Frawley was also charged with domestic violence in March of 2008. Not sure how I missed that on the online court records. Assessable at: http://courts.state.md.us/courtrecords.html
