Water main break on Bragg Road causes major delays

VDOT asks drivers to consider alternate route.

Date published: 2/20/2009

A water main break on Bragg Road in Spotsylvania County is causing major traffic delays today. Motorists should plan on using an alternate route, if possible, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Traffic is taking turns using a single lane near the water main break, which occurred on Bragg Road between River Road and the entrance to the Heritage Hills subdivision.

Spotsylvania County utility officials are assisting VDOT at the scene. Water service will not be turned off, but residents living along Bragg Road and in Heritage Hills may notice brief disruptions to water service throughout the day, VDOT said.

VDOT flag crews are currently directing traffic on Bragg Road. The water main break was not related to a road construction project on Bragg Road, VDOT said. Work is expected to be complete later today.

Yea Right. (posted by 1409dave , Feb. 20, 2009 2:58 pm)
The water main break happened yesterday, our water was off for most of the day & didn't come back on until last night. The break is directly under where the construction is. How can it not be caused by construction? Someone doesn't want to admit that they made a mistake. Dishonest and unprofessional.
