Police say the shooting occurred at Spotsylvania couple's home.
Date published: 6/18/2009

The elderly woman who authorities say shot her husband two weeks ago was just charged in his death.

Betty Lou Linderman, 67, was charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony, said 1st Sgt. Liz Scott of the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office.

Scott said Linderman, who was also shot in the foot during the incident, is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Her husband, Kenneth Linderman, 71, was shot in the chest June 4 in the couple's Spotsylvania home at the Alexander Heights-Independent Senior Living apartment complex. He died soon after the shooting.

Scott said Betty Lou Linderman will be given a mental examination following her arraignment, scheduled for tomorrow morning.
