Victim had been dating suspect’s wife, police say.

Date published: 9/29/2009 By Keith Epps A Beaverdam man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the Monday morning slaying of a Spotsylvania man in his home. Robert Keith Field, 39, of 12406 New Market Mill Road in Hanover is accused of killing 45-year-old Kenneth Wayne Dillard. Dillard was shot in the head about 6:15 a.m. while standing in his kitchen at 2131 Butler Road in Spotsyl vania. Police believe the shot was fired from Dillard’s driveway and went through a window.
Police spent most of Monday looking for Field, who turned himself into detectives Monday night.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Liz Scott said the case is still being heavily investigated, but police believe the slaying had to do with the fact that Dillard has been dating Field’s wife for the past few months. Field was arraigned this morning in Spotsylvania General District Court and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 13 to name his attorney. He is being held without bond in the Rappahannock Regional Jail. Dillard also has a Beaverdam address. Parts of Beaverdam are in Spotsylvania and Hanover counties. My Ex husbands and father of my 2 beautiful daughters is named Kenny! Not victim or dead guy! And as 4 Keith being a wonderful man? No matter how u look at it he stood outside Kennys home and shot him though the window! To me that makes him a MURDERING COWARD! Not to mention his "Keith" own neice was standing beside Kenny at the time. Sound like a good family man to you? I guess the FACTS will come out in court! See you there. Wendy Dillard
Keith is a wonder man, farher, and husband. People should have the fact before saying thing. I mean facts not things you hear and read second hand. Fact one he is accused not convicted. Fact two what kind of step mother is she to put all of kids stuff out by the road and call the police to notify the family to come get it, Fact three if she wanted out all she had to do is just leave, Fact four they were still living and sleeping together. I could give alot more facts, but Im out of space
Ok "theobc", I thought for about half a sec you might have

something worth opening your mouth for (or moving your
fingers to type for). I WAS SO WRONG!! Why would you refer
to another HUMAN being as "the dead guy"? That "dead guy"
was one of the most caring, kind hearted, giving, hard
working, decent people I've ever known. He was someones
best friend,uncle,brother.. I don't hide behind letters. I use my
name to say you YOURE the poor fool
The victim has 2 daughters.
One of the most unfortunate things regarding this horrendous crime is that the shooter has several children that he is responsible for. Not to mention, if the victim has any children.My heart goes out to the families of both the victim and the shooter. I couldn't imagine having to go through this from either end of the spectrum. I hope that any children involved in this case turn out to have somewhat of a normal life. My thoughts and prayers are with both families during this devastating time. God bless.
