A convenience store clerk was robbed at gunpoint early Thursday while taking a break outside his store, police said.
Spotsylvania Sheriff’s spokeswoman Liz Scott said the incident occurred about 2:20 a.m. at the 7-Eleven at Salem Fields. The clerk was standing outside when two men approached him.
After having a brief conversation, one of the men pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at the clerk and demanded money, Scott said. The other suspect went through the clerk’s pockets and took an undisclosed amount of money.
One of the suspects then went into the store and took money from the cash register. Both were last seen running toward Salem Fields Town Homes.
Both suspects were described as black men in their mid 20’s with thin builds, 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 11 inches tall wearing black pants and black shirts. One was wearing a black hat and had a thin goatee. One had black and red Nike Air Jordan shoes and the other had on multi-colored tennis shoes.
