Robbery prompts school lockdown

UPDATE (5:13 p.m.) A suspect has been taken into custody at the Dunkin Donuts on Salem Church Rd. in Spotsylvania, said Natatia Bledsoe of the Fredericksburg Police. The investigation is continuing.

For the second time in a week, area schools are on lockdown following a robbery in Fredericksburg.

Police say today's incident occurred around 2:30 at Floor Shop, 2103 Jefferson Davis Highway.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'10", with a thin build. He wore a white shirt and blue scarf and was armed with a black handgun.
