Heather Robertson and her 9-year-old daughter, Megan, were walking toward Jiffy Lube Live Pavilion Saturday night for a Tim McGraw concert.

A group of guys came jogging by.

One of the men looked at Megan's homemade sign - which said 'This is my first Tim McGraw concert. I need a hug.'

"I like your sign," he said as he ran by. Then he turned back toward her, winked and said, "See you later."

The runner, mother and daughter then realized, was Tim McGraw.

And he was right. He would see Megan later. Up close.

The Robertsons have been big Tim McGraw fans for several years. Heather heard his hit song "Live Like You Were Dying" on the radio when Megan was 3.

The words hit home. Megan, who was born with a heart defect, was due to have dangerous open heart-surgery at age 3 and a half. A few years later, Megan suffered a mini-stroke.

Megan, a rising fourth-grader at Rocky Run Elementary, has spent the past couple of years re-learning to read and use the left side of her body.

McGraw didn't know any of that when he saw Megan again a couple of hours later. Security had moved her toward the front of the stage and the country superstar spent considerable time hamming it up for the little girl.

At one point, he reached toward her and Megan slipped a guitar-shaped Silly Band onto his wrist.

He was still wearing it when his band started playing "Tiny Dancer" and McGraw motioned for Megan to join him onstage.

The crowd hoisted her up to him as tears of joy streamed down Megan's cheeks.

McGraw's wife, Faith Hill, waived to her from off-stage as he twirled Megan around.

At the end of the song, he bowed to her. Then he remembered her sign.

And a little girl from Stafford County got the hug she'd come for.

"He's my dream," Megan said yesterday, "and I just got to live it! It's just so amazing."

Megan plans to keep the sign she made "so he'll always remember it's me."
