shirley in Fredericksburg asks:
is there a place where you can take old bills, credit cards, and bank statements to have them shedded free. thanks
Answer: A free document shredding event will be held at the Fredericksburg branch of Virginia Credit Union, Saturday, October 24, from 9 a.m. – 12 noon.
The event will be held at the Fredericksburg branch, 2150 Gordon W. Shelton Boulevard. The branch is located in Celebrate Virginia South near the new Wegmans.
Virginia Credit Union encourages consumers to reduce the risk of identity theft by shredding old documents containing personal and financial information. Cintas Shredding, a document destruction company, will shred up to three full grocery bags of paper per person. The public is invited.
During the shredding event, the credit union will also collect non-perishable foods for the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank.
